when I got mine through it took 2 weeks, it CAN take longer though but normally 2 weeks and you should hopefully be ok after that.

thats the general thought about it BUT I have known people to get the fines through the post 3-4 weeks after, but 9/10 I think 2 weeks and then you are pretty safe. I wouldnt worry anyhting past that tbh

ur best goin and askin a police man, cos weve had this convo on here so many times, ppl say its 2 weeks, some say 3, some say 4, i heard they are allowed to keep it on record for a year, so you could get it any time

ive never heard apart from on here that if its after 2 weeks its invalid

not tryin to put a dampner on things but if it was a mobile van i wud expect a ticket cos i wud think they all have films in

ask to see the evidence anyway - theres a chance the film could ave been taped over.

I thought it was 6 weeks smileys/smiley5.gif but front facing fixed cameras can be ages since its backed with face photo evidence. From what I heard there is a limit as the law states that you shouldnt be expected to remember your exact actions and event after a certain period of time. Just cant remember what it is.....but 6 weeks comes to mind.

yeah im wiv u boyr4cer i thought it was 6 weeks aswell, thank god it seems i was done 2 months ago for 35 in a 30, remember ur speed is usually a little fast and ur allowed 10% ie 33mph

It's 10% in a accident blackspot but 10% +2mph for most areas according to a traffic cop that did my speed awareness driving course. smileys/smiley4.gif

I'd have to say if I was a police officer and a car broke the speed limit over taking a milk float and then noticably slowed down afterwards id let them off. Isnt it safer to get past the obstruction quickly??

Thats is a crushing mate! Mine was a dual carriageway the size of a motorway with motorway junctions that has been dropped to a 50mph limit so they can make loads of money basically. And one night they put a camera on a tripod on the bridge. Should have gone back and run it over for being so sneaky! Oh well if the camera investigation comes out good then they will have to remove 90% of the countries cameras as they arent in listed accident black spots and are just money making.

I have recently been flashed by a Gatso camera, what happens next?

The Police have 14 days to send you a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). They also get an allowance of a couple of days for the post to deliver it. So if its more than 17days since you were flashed they are too late to prosecute you, unless you were driving a company car, hire car or someone elses car. In these circumstances they are allowed more time to track you down. See below for further details.
