F1 is the worlds richest sport... football will go under before f1 does because of cashflow

if honda still had the money they'd still be doing it. all car manufactorers are struggling, it just depends whether or not they can justify spending millions in F1 despite this.
frankie
15th December 2008, 13:28
imo i dont think all of the car manufacturs are as bad as they say they are....think their crying poverty just for the monies

My dad retired early because the dealership he worked at went from selling roughly 2-3 cars per day per salesman, to 3 per week for the whole dealership.
But i can't see F1 ever dying out, they will adjust the formula to make hefy cost cuts if big teams say there pulling out. Theres too much corruption behind the scenes for anyone to know why an F1 team really pulls out. And they keep changing the rules to keep drivers sweet hence the comeback of proper slicks.

f1 will never die, its survived through world wars and other global financial crisis's before.
Cost cutting will happen by the teams and the FIA.
Pug used to produce engines for prost which was ligier iirc.

If they do they better have a better engine than the peugeot V10 they last had, no reliability (not surprissing) down on power, old design compared to all other engines at the time.
Would be good if they came back, they always said (peugeot) they would consider it again if the time was right for them. The again wouldbe interesting if they or citroen came back in.

yeah i remember prost peugot of about 10 years ago. they could still use honda engines as long as they pay honda to make them, then badge as pug/cit.

when renault first left f1 the engines were rebadged by a few companies for a season or so.
