They are jobs still out there, just depends on what exactly you want to do and your willing to do.
Personally if it was me, i would go do a winter season aboard.

I wish in a way I did repping. I left school at 18 then went to Malia for the summer and went stright into a job. Looking back I wish I had more balls. If my life ever goes tits up I shall do this route for sure!
I'm in too much debt now to afford to go for a job like this now! plus I don't think the GF would be to happy! I would take the job in Andorra if i were you. Would be good, I've been there 3/4 times and loved it every time. What have you got to loose if you went and then didn't like it. Its only a few months of your life. Plus you earn a few quid.
Can I ask how much will you earn for a season?

Exactly the same as me.
I wanted to be a rep/work aboard when i was at school. Having a girlfriend and getting too used to having money once i left meant it never happened.
Now I'm in a job i hate more then anything in my life. Im forever spending money and listening to people moan about money all the time.
i would love the change in lifestyle but im too comfortable and scared of change now.

Don't get me wrong but I love my life now, although it is hard at present. I wish I did things slower in my life. I now have a well paid job, a large mortgage and a long term GF. I also had the chance to do repping I had a job lined up and every thing.
I still have a number of friends who are working as reps, two are now "managers" in two different places in France, they seem to earn ok for what they do.
If I had my time again I would do at least a few years of repping and then go into "proper" work once I was about 25!!!

Doesnt matter what economy you're in.
£5k a year salary isnt worth anything in any economic climate.
How can you decide to fly home when its a major chunk of your annual earnings. Serious.
EDIT: Sayer, should have said you were a single dad.

PLus if you decide you have had enough they pay for you to fly back. I had a friend who went out there with 18-30 got the sack after about 3 weeks and then got another job working in a bar and at the end of the season about 4 months later 18-30 paid for his flight home!!!

I thought minimum wage was around £12,000 a year if you worked fulltime.
Just do a course and become an instructor in something and work teaching sailing or something.
Monies!
If you came to the UK, you'd spend £150-£200 shopping and clubbing in a week no problem.

yeah i have to pay to live i dont pay my accomodation but i pay for my gas and electric meter! im lucky if i get hot water as well!! i also pay for all my food as my duty times in my hotels dont allow me to eat as im never there at restaurant opening times and my other hotel is self catering! eating out is rather expensive for a decent meal (ie steak pie chips and veg) plus a drink brings me to about 10 euros, which with the rate of 1.08 which the conversion is at the moment im paying 9.25 pounds for a meal, plus you got things like phone credit as well to think about!

That what I thought, I may have miss understood but he didn't pay to get home!!
Flights can be cheap if you need them to be.
I waited at Malia airport for 2 days to get a cheap flight, this is going back over 5 years ago and I think I paid something like £40 which was just an admin fee. Cheap cheap cheap!
