Just wondering, if an engine has 5,000bhp is everything just made bigger?. I know it sounds like a daft Q but in pics etc the engines just look like V8's etc with aload of superchargers or turbos running nitro methane. But surely a big turbo and nitro methane cant make that much power.
Like are they running stupid boost with a mega thick block and super heavy duty pistons and mega gearboxes.
Or is it a normal engine produced by a car maker thats running stupid boost with uprated internals etc.
I was thinking maybe the engines are from planes, or boats that are tuned up.
I mean engines like this, not supras, vipers or skylines that have 1200hp etc;

Forget imagining the turbo - imagine the torque!!!
At least 5600 ft/lbs of torque :panic: :panic:
***EDIT - now wishes that he'd clicked the link before spending time work out the torque figure :( ***

Most big power stuff uses either a "small block" Chevy V8 at 5.7 litres or a "Big block" at 8.2 litres.
Facto - The small block is the most produced engine ever, a crazy number like 100 million have been made

Fancy buying one? Oddly they're piss cheap (A VTS lump would be about £4000 new, which gets you a decent spec smal block)
