my first quote on my 1.1 was 4500 lol, i got mine in the end for 2000 fully comp from churchill, i had 2 years no claims on a moped, as they do accept moped no claims

mum cant drive lol :n: done it with my aunt and it came up at 1700. but these were annual premiums so it will be even dearer to pay it monthly which is what i will be doing.
think i might just have to accept its gonna be dear as f**k and live with it for the first year. :n:

my 2000 1.4 furio was 1400 with a years no claims on a moped which gave me a30% discount. and that was 3rd party fire and theft. shop around. try a place called lexham and some of these comparison sights because you should be able to get cheaper then that easily.

saxoboy91
15th December 2008, 20:48
tried the comparison sites, compare the market, confused, compare etc; cheapest i got was 3210 but it was a deposit of 411 quid and was £311 a month for 9 months but insured for 12. that was ecar. just tried lexham there so its just a case of waiting on them contacting me :A:

my insurance was 1200 last year. i wrote that message wrong lol. yeah my gf was getting quotes on 1.1 saxos and getting round the 1000 mark 3rd party fire and theft. have you got any points or anything.

saxoboy91
15th December 2008, 21:15
nope no points, but girls insurance is nearly half guys :n: im sure i'll get something sorted. my aunt got one that was a £240 deposit and £212 a month for 10 months. thats with me as a named driver, might go with that if i cant find anything else.

Quinn will literally enter you if youre insured provisinally then pass your test, dont be surprised if it doubles in price!!

That said, once youve got NCB under your belt their prices are good and theyre mod-friendly.

saxoboy91
17th December 2008, 17:10
i'm jus gonna go with ecar and live with the high price just now then after a year it will go down. just have to get on with it :A:

How long is it til you turn 18 mate? If it's only a few weeks it might be worth waiting til you turn 18 as your insurance quotes will be that bit cheaper.

Have you tried Norwich union, More than or Endsleigh?

try these sites

http://www.drivingattitudetest.com/

http://www.4youngdrivers.com/ or

http://www.17to40.co.uk/

failing that use go compare to find the cheapest insurer they can find, then go directly to the company and get a quote directly from them.

Put your Parents/Aunt/Uncle on as named driver on your policy or see if it's cheaper to put them as main driver with you as 2nd driver.

- get quotes for tpft cover
- restrict your annual mileage if you can
- get additional security fitted to the car
- park the car off street if poss. (in garage if you have one)

Good luck mate it just takes a bit of searching to find a policy that works for you :y:

I'm 17 and with Churchill, fully comp, own policy, £1380 (roughly) on my 106. It was £150 more on the Saxo but I got some back when I changed the insurance over, I guess coz the 106 is a couple of years older, same engine size tho. Quinn was £1100 fully comp until I passed, then went up to £2000 :n:
