Parents are looking for a new tv for my sister, don't want to spend much more than £300 really. Needs to be decent spec and size, say 26" at least. Is it worth just getting a 720p/1080i now or would it be better saving and going for a 1080p?

Found this on ebuyer but dunno if Vistron are any good? Got a Samsung panel in it.

This (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134825)

I use ebuyer and bought a tv from them, I got mine for £300 but the price has risen slightly, these are very good imo, they look exactly like the samsung and also give a 1080p signal on the xbox 360.

Uncle has this one, again great for the money, I just preferred the look to the others they offer, I don't like the speakers down the side.

Cheers GD, never heard of Sense either! Not that fussed about number of HMDI ports, she doesnt play games so would only really be a blu-ray player linked up eventually.

Ive got a projector myself, but my sister doesnt have a big enough room in my mums house for it.

Ive got it set up in the spare room, well over 100 inch screen :drink:

Karl,

the vistron is ok i know someone who has that mode; but its not great.....the picture quality is a little low for my liking and the picture brightness cannot adjust to the perfect setting.....also it will not work with sky for volume controls etc which is really annoying and also when changing sky channels its screen size changes making it slow its not worth it you really should save up a little more tbh !
