rocker cover paint advice

hi, have searched the forum, but no one seems to give a sure answer, mixed opinions, what paint should i use to paint my rocker rover?

normal or hight temp? thanks

Cellulose paint will be fine as well mate. I imagine you'll get a better finish with it as well.

i just painted mine with normal paint and no problems so far, did the same on my astra and had no problems on that either.

I used caliper paint.. Up to 150 degree heat resistant.. Looks perfect.. No need of laquering or anything. Quality stuff :P

i was wanting to paint my rocker cover is it sealed on or that because i undid a bolt and it wasnt wanting to come off ? and i did my exhaust manifold with some normal paint it looks like its burning or something ha ha but not flaking yet.. so i would maby use high temp paint on the rocker cover, you can get it on ebay i think

Bit stiff ye.. I prised it out with a flat head underneath the gasket. Will come out eventually :y: Well the mani cover is more than likely be hotter than the rocker, so ye.. use high temp :y: lol

does it not ruin the seal on the rocker cover or does it just tighten back up with the bolts

Just get a new gasket (seal) mate, might aswell. The gasket does come off so you can just put it back on when you finish painting it. You won't damage it, just don't pierce it or something stupid like that lol.
