What does this mean? I always see it in thread titles like '56K no'

that theres looaddds of photos, and if you have a slow connection/dial up connection then it will take forever for it all to load.

dont attempt to view thread if you have 56k internet, basically just saying there is alot of pictures

56k is a type of connection a really slow one, meanin that it transfers 56kb a minute or second or something, thus meaning if you have a thread with 20 big 10mb pictures in it can take yonks to load so its just warning you

Hmm lol, as above if you have dial up 56k dont even think about it.. would have to feed your modem some coal tbh

Up until about 3 months ago i did :(
Too far from the local exchange to get normal broadband (through phone lines) - so now got satelite broadband. Still not a great speed compared to whats out there, but a vast improvement on 56k :D

i'm on broadband and its only 200kbs !!! and i find it is rapid.

56kilobits per second only actually works out to be a download speed of 5 kilobytes per second... meaning a 10meg pic would take over 10mins to download!
