:wall: Iv recently bought a new sound system off 2 x jbl subs and a jbl amp for £130 off a friend!! The system worked perfect for say 2 weeks or more THEN it started making a Whirring noise and all the bass would dissapear then 2 secs later it would all be fine again!! I fort maybe power cables so went out and bought a FLI 2000 watt wiring kit changed all the cables over PERFECT for at least a month now its all started again i cant fink off anything it could be iv even dissconected 1 sub so its jus 1 sub n amp running still get the same! Some times it sounds like iv got a big 1000cc bike sitting in my boot ticking over:wall::wall: please help what could it possibly be?

sounds like an earth problem to me..

upgrade to better wiring? 2awg all around the car maybe

when fli say a 2000w wiring kit, it probly means 2watt

Almost definately earth, listen to see if the noise increases when you accelerate. (tell tale sign)

Yes when i accelerate it goes to a higher pitch. So have i got to re-place my earth?

where have you earthed it? make sure the paint has been sanded away to the bare metal to get the best possible connection

It is on the rear seat bolts if u get were i mean!! the like 2 bolts at the bottom? Iv recently fitted new vts inteiror thats probably the reason then. Thanks i will go out now and try this then get back to you with result

mines on the same bolts mate

just make sure theres as big a connection between earth and metal as possible

ive the surface a good sanding down and make sure its tightened down

Right iv jus sanded down the bracket on the seat part bolted it back on still gettin the same!!! But when i just went a drive round it was jumping on and off like noise then no noise then noise! so like a lil loose connection? just feel like ripping the thing out:wall:

lose connection somewhere within the system could be the problem

amp to sub?
them other leads from hu to amp?

it shouldnt take more than 20 mins to check all of those

Checked the connection on the sub and one off the connectors had come really lose touched it and it snapped off! think that was the reason for the noise?
