On travelling to Morgan today (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/blog.php?b=191) I overheard the radio in the factory that Jaguar/land rover may be having to shut down soon :n: and move elsewhere, I had heard of this elsewhere but I wasn't expecting it to be so soon!

Rover/mg has gone, TVR has gone, vauxhall has (sort of gone), most of ford has moved elsewhere, our manufacture is moving away and yet it brings in so many jobs and so much revenue for the economy it's crazy.. maybe Brown should stop investing in banks and bailing out companies such as Northern Rock and possibly bring back some of our car manufacturers?

This won't effect most people (to their knowledge) but there are a few on sax-p I know that wish to progress into motorsport and a few members who work for such companies. Discuss. :y:

Stop funding banks?!
Dude, without banks, none of these companies would survive.

Its a case of keep the food chain alive.
All companies operate in their overdraft usually, and top it up with cash when their credit control dept steps in 28-60 days later.

Companies are being forced by the economic climate to become more efficient.
ie. dump bits they dont need.

Ford have had Jaguar/Land Rover for sale for years behind closed doors.

None of the major banks are going to collapse its only the littler ones (and a few big ones who were really stupid). Let them go they have wasted money and invested it poorly for years. Giving each other massive wages and bonuses, sod the lot of them.

no no no mr rem you have me wrong-obviously we need banks for the economy to survive but a little thought into the car manufacturers that were apparent and are apparent in this country are well worth looking into. I'm not geared up on what brown has recently done etc. as i dont keep up to date with the news.

And correct on ford selling up on the jag front, in fact they already have done so/did so a while back, or so I've been told.
