the police are too busy giving people fines for having no bike lights, or having a number plate like this, meaning they aint fucking there when people are breaking into your car to steal all your stuff. fucking waste of space.

Yer they would rather be trying to fine you than trying to catch people break into your cars smileys/smiley5.gif

you broke the law, you cant go calling them pigs for doing you for doing something wrong. Granted its not major but your blatantly breaking the law.

Best thing to say to a copper when he pulls you over
"Do you know why you are pulling me over?"
Wait for the Yes reply
then reply "Good at least one of us does"

Well the first time a mates car got broken into theyy said there was a problem with a gang of them doing it at the time but they werent chasing it. The SECOND time in 3 months they came and got finger prints and then done nothing else. Only done that coz we went mental and told them to pull the finger out.

i would of thought theyd have given u a chance to get them corrected. what if u had just bought the car and didnt know?
grant thats impressive!! my car was broken into and evidence left and they still didnt wanna know!! when i rang to report my dads being broken into they denied any knowledge of it being a repeated crime in our house hold!!

To be fair to the police though... that font is pretty bad for a number plate! They can be fairly leniant, but not with fonts that are sooo far from being legal.
Would have been nicer if they'd have just given you a few days to correct it though...

when my car was broken into, my car was dna swabbed and finger printed. The guy was caught i got all my stuff back.
But i was lucky the guy who broke in was retarded. If its a clean break in how exactly do you expect the police to catch them?

i had a torch, a hat and finger prints all over my car - u could see them lol - the police still didnt wanna know!!
i thought u were given a warning and so many days to correct things - althought they did try fining my mum for a faulty brake light!

i think it depends on the police officer on the day.
but at the of the day, it is not a legal font and so you are breaking the law.
maybe the police would be out catching criminals and the such-like if your number plates were legal in the beginning.
but anyway... you've now learnt your lesson and will not do it again.

Here we go again... The Police are only out to make our lives miserable...
I also see more and more anger directed at the Police, when all they are doing is enforcing the laws. It's a difficult job that I don't think most of us could do. If the laws seem stupid then the right thing to do is to change the laws (not break them). Most of us have the right to vote - use it wisely.Excerpt from this thread (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12415&PN=0&TPN=2)
In this particular case, the officers witnessed a law being broken and they acted upon it. Just like if they witnessed someone breaking into a car they would act upon it. It's just easier if the law-breaker is actually in front of them. It's a whole different situation turning up to the scene of a break-in 9 hours later.
I could go on forever, but no-one would be listening...

No you are right. It jsut really annoys people when petty things like that (all be it illegal) get fined but when you are the victim nowt seems to be done.

I know I can probably come across as a Victor Meldrew character sometimes, but I do have some sympathy. It can seem petty, but unfortunately with the way society seems to be heading it's only going to get worse.
The number of serious crimes is on the increase (murders, shootings, etc...), and the numbers of Police officers are decreasing. It's a simple equation.
And also, lets not forget that the Police service (like any big organisation) is split into many departments. Traffic are responsible for traffic related stuff, Forensics do investigations, etc...
