bottom pulley is very loose...how can i tighten it and what would have caused it to come loose, this is my last option before buying a new alternator or spending a fortune putting in a garage after xmas...could do with the use of my car for xmas or im staying in my flat alone all xmas:wacko:

battery dies as the fan belt isnt moving enough...the bottom pulley is loose as f00k, even rubbing against cam belt cover in its process. If i can tighten it back up, might well just fix the batteries charging process...if it doesnt i know the alternator is shafted and need to buy a new one like
