View Full Version : Does anyone know how to do this?

I need to remove the rear passenger side upholstery panel (the one the seatbelt retracts through) to investigate a leak (VTR 3-door). I have managed to pop most of it open but it still won't come off, I think maybe because it is tight against the side of the rear seat.

Do I need to remove the rear seat back and base? I'm a bit concerned that the bolts that retain it may then drop through the floor onto the road:panic:.

Has anyone removed the rear seat, or the upholstery panel? I would be grateful for any advice!

pull away door rubber, window rubber fold seats down and it should pop off iirc careful of the speaker. needs a bit of jiggling but you will get there

also i think you need to unscrew and take off the little bit of plastic that you parcel shelf rest against.. there are 2 screws in that.. and also the rubbers around the window and door frame like danvtr said.. you have to wiggle it about aswell to get it out

Thank you for the replies and the advice. I think I will remove the seats, now that I know the bolts won't drop out, just to give me a bit more working room (and also to help with the careful re-fitting of the upholstered panel afterwards - I don't want to break the clips).

I'll let you know how it works out!

Merry Christmas everybody. Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down:y:
