the past few days my car has felt sluggish.
just like when i put my foot flat in 2nd it normally takes off pretty quick, but at the moment if feels slower :(
i do normally always have less than half a tank of petrol and at the moment i have just under 3 quarters. would this be why it feels slower?
and when reversing, it just feels different.
I spose it feels like the brakes are always slightly on...(im assuming they're not :S)

Any excess weight will bog a car down, depends how sluggish the car has become. Can be all manner of things check things like tyre pressures too, clear the boot out.
Also before attempting to put your foot down in second try to allow the car to warm up for at least 20mins and then you should notice the same sort of acceleration you're used to. My car was sluggish as hell today but thats mainly because of exhaust problems and it hadn't warmed up.

thinking about it my tyres do look low ... and i have lots of fuel on board compared to normal, so probably a combination of things.

when was the last time it had a full service!!??
clean the air filter if you have an induction kit or get a new one if its just the normal one, oil, oil filter and fuel filter change might help!!!

haha good theory, along the lines of "If I cant see it, it's not there :P "
Changing an oil filter is easy as pie and a fuel filter is a bit more tricky but can be done with some practice/patience/guidance.
If you're not sure when you last had a service get one in at the start of the new year will make your car feel alot nicer to drive bud :y:

how much fuel you normally drivin round with, if its very little you should understand that quite bad for your car as you pull all the shit through from the botom of the tank, so as said a service(with new fuel filter especially) will probs make a hell of a diffrence

i fill it to half tank, let it go down to just before the light comes on and then put £20 which takes it to halfish

You can service ya car yaself apart from the cam belt.
Get some engine flush £5
Fresh oil
Oil filter £5
Spark plugs £20
Can do all that for free
Cam belt £150 though. including parts n labour.

let your car warm up before using it, also check your plugs etc, may just need a good service
how long has the fuel filter been on there

if you do serive your car do not use any engine flush.
they tested it on 5th gear and every car serviced with engine flush lost more bhp than them serviced without.
wot i do is drain the oil out and put some new oil in, let it run for 20 mins and then drain that poil whilst its still warm (watch ur hands lol) then change oil filter and new oil :).
try some redex in your petrol for a few fill ups aswell as it cleans out the injectors.
