Hello people, I have a feeling my exhaust manifold has come loose to the bit before Cat?

I'll upload a video, quality might not be great, if so i'll go look for my cam recorder ;)
The sound is a lot louder than the engine and sounds a bit like someone blowing a raspberry, but a bit deeper?

I'm probably making no sense but I can get more vid footage if it helps :y:

Sounds fecking awful lol, may be a loose or a rusty hole :)

lol, interesting way to explain how it sounds. :p Couldn't find any holes, i thought it was loose (hence thread name) but didn;t want to risk putting my hand around it as i'll most likely burn myself XD.

What could i spray on it which won't catch fire to look for bubbles as such?

And yeah, this sound overpowers EVERY other noise on the car :n:

Manifold gasket might be knackered :)

Ah ok... are they expensive to buy and easy to replace?

At the bottom of the mani. How tight should the bolts on the springs be to the next pipe?

Thanks :y:

I'll jack it up tomorrow and check it out.

Did you buy replacement screws from shitroen? I recently bought a rocker cam oil seal from them... £13!? :fcuk:

Also, I can only find 16 valve exhaust gaskets on fleabay. :panic:

Do you mean some kind of "help keep your car live longer" product or a replacement pipe?

Ah I see, I have some putty stuff you speak of. Needed it for backbox, still need apply more, fumes leak out the back. Also got water dripping from it too :n:

If anyplace is open tomorrow, i'll ask them what they think it is and what they can do for me :y:

Still, your's doesn't leak anymore :p I'll try tightening the bolts and drive to a local garage to see what they suggest tomorrow.

Thanks for the help :y:
