hey
i have just purchased some smoked jewel rear lights for my furio and they will not fit!
the standard lights have grooves which the bulb holder slots into but the new smoked ones dont and the hole is slightly bigger so the bulbs just fall out
i was thinking of gluing them but then i would never be able to change the bulbs if they become faulty
has anyone else come across this problem and if so how did you resolve it?
many thanks!

there should be clips of them so they stay in, one of mine broke so all i did was fit one side in of the holder, then drill a hole in the side of the mount(inside of lights) and put a bolt in it, so they don't fall out! :y:

i have the bulb holder clip but where it slots into is just a plain circle whereas before there were grooves which the bulb holder slotted into and twisted to keep them in :S
its very hard to explain but i will post up some pics tomorrow and it will all become very clear :)
its easier to take the lights out in the daylight so that i can remember which bulb goes where

Have you got a link to where you got them from? I didn't have to touch the bulbs on mine, just swapped the casing over, the bulb housing stayed the same and fitted into the new smoked casing.

so the new smokes came with a new wiring loom?

With mine you had to swap over the casing from the ones you have on your car. If there is a problem fitting the lights to your car I would suggest sending them back to the selller

Right, on the standard lights there is a holder on the back what all of the bulbs are connected to.
You unclip the holder with all of the bulbs in them and clip them into the new jewel lights.
You have to do this as the new lights dont come with a wiring loom.
Pm me if you dont understand but as long as you have the standard lights you are fine.

well its not obvious actually as the lights that are in there allready are lexus ones perhaps they dont come with the clip on back and the lights are in different positions so even if all the bulbs came out together they wouldent be in the right place in the smokes.
i will post up pictures of the lexus ones and how they are attached to the car.
cheers for all the help sorry this is frustrating some people but it is quite hard to explain.

If you are changing from lexus lights to smoked jewels you will need the bulb holders from standard rear lights to fit inside the jewels.

yeah thats what it sounds like because when i was putting the bulbs in i had to do it 1 by 1 but people are saying that you have to change them all at the same time. so i might just buy some standard lights off ebay and take the holder out of them.

Lexus lights have individual bulb holders that push in the hole and turn like quarter turn and lock in, am i correct?
Smoked jewel lights arent like that, they need the bulb holder plate, its a plastic plate that holds all of the bulbs (like a circuit board), the plate clips in to the back of the light. I have attached a picture of what i mean.
