I have read up on the boot poppers, and was planning on doing one myself to the wiper motor, well on these wires.
Although whats the point. The gas struts arent stong enough to push the lid open.
Whats the point of doing it, unless i'm missing something out, there are hassle that isn't needed.
A little help please i'm confused!

alot of people smooth off the boot, which means removing the rear key hole and pushing lock, therfore without the popper you cant open the boot.

Yeah i know thats probably why most people do it, but its a pretty crap inconvience. Having said that, most mods are tbh. Speed bumps and lowered 70mm just don't go!

ive had a boot popper on 3 of my old cars and there very usefull when theres no way of opening it lol
also the struts are not designed to lift it from the bottom when clicked open. there there to keep it up when opened.

Could different struts be used?
For example out of a car that hasa much heavier boot lid?
Would that at all push it up

Yeah thats what i would like to achieve.
If i knew what pressure the orignal saxo ones are that would be a good base to work off, find some that are twice as strong, see if that could work.
That way you could sit inside car and flick a switch and boot would pop. Could also be done for bonnet as well.

because of a saxo being similar to a coke can i can see that going rong and bending the body inwards somehow?

Well if your like me, you suffer having to reach into the back to open the boot. Which isnt v good when you've filled it with stuff.
And i have a fibreglass boot with polycarb screen, two lifters dont make my boot open when its popped. They need a bit of a push to kick in :S but one opens it and holds it more than OK.
