106's are prettier, 205's are generally faster (than 106's of same age) is a good basic point :p

106 comes with same body probs as saxo inner wings ect
205 much better though inner wings can still go they handle much better than 106 and better still with 309 rear beam ive had many from rallye to mi16 and cti cabby mi16 but as people say they are getting hard to find now 205 rallye only came in yellow and white
and sort after.

The Euro Spec ones are a 1.3 8v.
The UK like mine are a 1.4 8v. with only 75bhp

I'd personally go for the 205. If its well maintained then the level of feedback you get from driving it is in a different league compared to the slightly muted feedback from thereafter.
There is so much you can do to them as well to make them even better :y:
I used to have a 205 Rallye in white. Didn't do much to the engine. Cams, headwork, modified carbs, group N exhaust but it pumped out a healthy 91bhp at the fly vs the 75bhp of the original engine.
Suspension wise I really went to town. Coilovers conversion to the rear. 309 rear beam. Coilovers on the front with revised geometry, 13inch group A wheels and yoko 048R.
Really having to push the envelope on my next car to beat the handling of that one.

only 1.3 8v mate designed for high power output faster than the 205 1.6 gti
regarded as best naturally inspired 1.3 tu engine ever made

Jackman
29th December 2008, 21:34
All Info is according to Parkers!
205 Rallye is Group 7
106:
1.3 Rallye is Group 9
1.6 Rallye is Group 11
