My Saxo is leaking. I've found quite big patches of dark brown oil underneath the car. Some at the back, a massive patch in the middle and a bit at the front end. What could this be and roughly how much would it cost to repair?
And the temperature warning light keeps coming on even though there is enough water in the coolant expansion. I don't have a temp gauge though.
All advice appreciated. Thanks.

Temp warning light will prob be from the temp sensor in the engine bay, best get it changed, its the green connector in your engine bay iirc, but the leaking i have no idea about sorry.

Whereabouts are the dark patches underneath located? Front end or the whole length of the car?

The whole length of the car but most of it is in the middle part.

I've only just noticed the leaks though, so it can't have been leaking that long.

Also check the driveshafts and the manifolds.
Mine is the same, doesnt go further back than the centre exhaust box, but the underneath is covered! think mine is my driveshaft though due to a knock from a pothole on the n/s!

io had that problem mate check the joins in your exhaust if they aint sealed rite they will leak like the same fluid what comes out of your exhuast when you rev it, so best thing would be jack your car up and check all the welds on the exhaust mate :y:

Thanks for all the advice guys. i took it into a garage this morning as it's been getting worse and I found oil in the coolant tank. They had a look at it and unfortunately its the head gasket and radiator that needs replacing. They quoted me £350 for the gasket fitted and £70 for the radiator fitted, so the total price would be £420. Is that a reasonable price or quite high? I'm going to phone some more garages tommorow and see if I can get a better price.

£350 with rad is more along the right lines. But if you have internal damage you could be looking at more! So fingers crossed mate.
