Radio code !

Hi guys the missus has a megane and i fitted her a new battery the other day and by doing this it made the cd player ask for a code.

I know you can get these from the dealers but arent they like £20?

was wondering if any one knows how to get one for free as shes a little skint :P

my dad had the same problem...

all he did was, go to the cd players manufactures website (in his case phillips), looked about put in the model number of the radio and they gave him the code

i got mine from citroen for free. have you phoned them and asked if it will cost?

if the radio is aftermarket the code may be printed on the back of the unit itself, this is not the case with factory fit units as they want your money ;)

you can get a little 12v car adaptor that links up to a 9v battery that protects your radio settings etc... when you change your battery but i guess its to late now :(
