View Full Version : Best way to remove spare wheel cage ???

Im going down the route of lightening as much as i can and for starters im doing away with the spare and carrying tyre foam instead but i need to remove the cage too, so.....
whats the best way to get it off without damaging the underside.

I did the same as Sidvish. Probably an easy way of removing it but........i didn't know how! If you don't intend putting it back on the car just angle grind it or if you want it back on in the future (To sell) wait for one of the sensible members input.

there is one 10mm bolt on the drivers side of the hanger prob covered in sh**e just undo that and it drops out matey !!!!! i nearly took the angle grinder to mine being impatient untill the mrs said "well they had to get it in there in the first place let me have a look!" dindt i feel stupid lol

aye, it will come off, undo the bolt then wiggle it off :)

Cheers guys i managed to get it off the proper way and not bring out the heavy tools on it lol.
