I'm looking to buy a 1.0 saxo MK2, but i also interested in doing some modifications to it. The first one i wanna do is putting VTR wheel arches on it or even the whole body kit on it. Do you know how much it is to buy the wheel archs or the whole body kit? and how much it would be to fit it and spray it? The car is black. I know the best thing is to just get a VTR, but i only passed my test recently and looked at insurance for the VTR and its £200 a month!!! (unless someone can suggest me a place which does really cheap insurance for VTR's!!).

Next modifcation is likely be lowering the car around 40-45mm. I seen some of the springs on ebay they're about £50. But how much is it to fit them?

Last but not least! would it be possible to fix 17" alloy wheels on them without it rubbing, or would it best to go for 16".. i looked at 15" but i think they are too small for me!

I've been looking at other threads and other ppl been really helpful so i hope you could help me out as well!!!

Thanks

Jonny

They did 1.0l Saxos? Cool.
Lowering is usually between £150 and £200.
Without the VT* kit, you'd need to bend the lip on the inside of the arches to fit 15s on, with the VT* kit, it should go straight on, same with a 16 with the right profile tyre (195/40/16), dunno about 17s though.

Look at Furio's mate.

Or Westy's.

Buy a Furio (mk2) or westcoast (mk1). Both 1.4 so easier to insure but both have the VT bodykit. As for wheels, you may think 15s are too small, but trust me, 16s at the most on a Saxo! And sometimes even they look too big. 15s always look better on Saxo's, Clio's and other cars of similar size.

get insured and settled before spending loads on alloys and lowering, unless they are standard the alloys are going to make your insurance go up.

go for a furio in my opinion if you want the arches
or go for a 1.0 or 1.1 and go for the flat arch look
can make them look great look at greensaxo's for an example
when lowered about 50mm or 60mm they look so goood! IMO
