I think paying a qualified mechnic to change the clutch is a far better idea and you'll have the peace of mind it was done right, my vote is for Rickyp-rpm's, he does all my work on my car and I travel 1.5hrs each way.

£400 for just fitting, WOW, thats steep, pretty confident Rickyp-rpm would fit it for less than that, but this is beside the point, if the car isnt driveable your options are limited :n:

yea i know :( well he is doing me service and mot n starter motor for 140 quid which is a ok/average price i thought. oh yea he quoted me £200 quif for boot respray on my flushed boot. im sure tht wayyy over priced n thts not evn doing the trims n inside it. maybe after the swervice ile get to hv a look to see sence but if it still too much i wnt do it :/

No mot or tax, he's got you by the short and curley's then, quite clearly he hasnt got a clue when it comes to Saxo's either, good luck, you'll need it by the sounds of things.

Phone www.rickyp-rpm.co.uk, you've got nothing to lose, I'm sure he can get it trailered to his in Barnsley, it will still be cheaper than the bloke across the road...

lmao yea! ile see what comes up and if anyone wants to do it. i might not even need the gearbox changing cos ive been told that the syncro that has gone in 1st gear could be the clutch and i know the clutch is fuked lol i was just geeting the gearbox to be safe but ile need to atleast get the clutch doing. well i havnt bought the gearbox yet cos im just seeing my options atm
