I have a medical issue that only allows me to drive an Automatic transmission! So of course i drive the mk1 1.6 with the black top vtr engine in!
My question is... could I put my auto saxo gear box into a vts engine? Has it been done before? Could I do it and how much would it approx cost?

i have a vts with a vtr box on it their was no problems their. i think the only problem you could get is you will need a flywheel for an auto. you need to find out what the difference is

I use to have the 1.6 auto, iirc it had 1,2 and drive so only 3 foward gears. Good idea putting it in a vts!

it can be done but you will probs need a vsx doner car for its loom ecu ect
be cheaper getting a saxo vsx and putting a vt kit on my option

What's a Saxo VSX?
It only has 3 forward gears but would that be a problem to convert to a VTS?

I drive the same model saxo as you due to a medical condition, the only problem I can think of is will the vts engine put out too much torque for the autobox to handle mate?Maybe you`d have to uprate the torque converter.
Happy new year.
