Im wanting another car, it has to be very very cheap IE £200 and it has to have some MOT.

So far some ive found are;

http://i10.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/26/c4/a8d4_1.JPG

1981 Austin Metro

http://i20.ebayimg.com/01/i/001/27/cd/abc3_1.JPG

1999 Suzuki Alto

http://i24.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/27/77/46c5_1.JPG

AX 1.1

http://i6.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/27/bd/fc2d_1.JPG

Vauxhall Nova 1.3

But im thinking of going even older something from 60s-70s. I want it to have as a daily driver but im going to give it a 'custom' look.

Got any ideas?.

Or links to something you've seen.

Whats wrong with the Saxo mate?

My friends got a 1.4 Metro - little bit of a sketchy ride if i'm honest. Suppose most of the will be unless you upgrade the wheels/tires etc.

At this end of the market you are just after maximum reliability, anything this cheap from the 60s/70s isn't going to cut it as a daily hack.

Personally, I like Metros, they're cheap and puntable. The AX is also very cheap and more solid, but for me ultimate dull motoring gets no better than the Ford Fiesta 1.1, or 1.8 diesel. Unstoppable and so cheap to fix.

I would pick the AX. old skool go-kart looks and drives like one too also very cheap on fuel and still quite a nippy car for what it is :)

Only thing is, if i buy an AX, in 6 months it will have a valver in it and be stripped.... and ill have forgotten what i was doing to the saxo :P.

Ill see how the auction goes for the alto. Also going to the car auctions next thurs in leeds so should be some nice repo bargains!

No way will you pick up a half decent mini for less that a grand!

Ste, if it were my money I'd be investing in the AX, for the simple fact if anything does go wrong most of the parts will be retro fit from the saxo

Either that of put a bit more in the pot and buysomething like this:

Mondeo all the way, theres hundreds of them about for absolute peanuts, and cost very little to repair as there also loads in the scrappers!

One of my mates got an S reg Rover 25 from his next door neighbour for £100 when her husband died, 2 years later and its flown though MOT's and just had th clutch done!

You'd get a bargain with a Rover and they are pretty reliable, plus as they are mostly owned by the elderly they have little miles and usually a full dealer service history.
