iv got a Y reg Mrk 2 VTR and i think its guzzling more petrol than it should be ?

on a full tank i can get about 270 miles out of it i mean surely i should be able to get more out of it than that ?

how far can you VTR drivers get out of yours on a full tank ?

Also i dunno if this is a common thing but the needle that tells ya how much fuel you have left is a bit fucked as i had just turned about 200 miles an it was just under half so being me i thought i could of gotten another 100-150 miles out of it atleast

yes, just got a shitty pipercross induction kit atm, but i don't really drive it with my foot to the floor all that often. it depends if you do a lot of inner city driving or open road/motorway driving. try giving it a good service and/or using some injector cleaner or fuel additive.

isn't it electronically set, so that when you turn off the car, and it resets to the new levle.

mine goes off the drive and is one level, turn it off at the lights and it resets anbout a quarter of a tank lower.

i'l second that ^^^^^^^. i've given up trying to second guess my fuel gauge. i just reset my trip gauge every time i fill up, then when it reaches 300miles i refill him. smileys/happy.gif

think the best i got when i had the vtr engine in was about 380ish but that was all very carefull driving i got 80 miles to half a tank on sat playing with a CTR on way to forton services from carlisle

well i put £20 in it on monday an it filled it right up just under full an its hardly moved, i do some motorway miles then house estates thru to college so quite rare i get to go flat out on a motorway for it to be guzzling the fuel

i know this sounds stupid but why dont we all fill our tanks up sunday monday morn an then re-set our milage counter to see which of us guzzle the most fuel ?

just an idea as pretty bord here at college lol

check out this site
http://www.carnet.co.uk/guide/citroensaxo.html

going on these stats mpg is:

vtr 42.2 = 357 miles to a tank max
vts 33.2 = 280 miles to a tank max

those figures are never really accurate, but its possible to get that much.

most ive managed was the other weekend, 480 miles from a tank, all motorway tho, 60mph all they time, sometimes lower! following my friend who is the slowest driver i know! lol

330 miles on a tank every week, generally foot to the floor on the motorway though, best I have had is 420 but that was when the engine was missing like mad!!

The fuel indicator doesnt seem to move for the first 200 miles then drops to half way on start up?

VTR Mark (have no idea!!) Y reg!!

iv filled mine right up to brim £35 quids worth and re set the milage thing an put some of that cleaner fluid you put in with the fuel to see if that will make a difference

my guage is crap also. if i park on a hill (nose up) and then start up, it's empty, even while driving along on the flat for say 15 minutes, it doesn't level out that much. also, its more sensitive when i'm getting low, there's not much movement on a full tank!
