Hey

I live in NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE and I'm after some advice, I had an accident just after Christmas
I spun out in my VTR, hit the curb and went up onto some grass
Luckily I did not hit any lamposts... however the pictures below show the damage i did do :(

As you can see, both wheels are bent at the back, I am guessing I will need a new rear axle, but am unsure as to what my first step should be as I've never had to deal with this kinda thing
The car is un-driveable at present, so I have taken pictures and shown these to a few local garages which tbh, were not a lot of help

What should I do? :(

buy a new rear beam and fit it yaself on the drive, will be easier with a lift though. Looks like a right shunt though, has it not bent the chassis where the mounts mount?

you cant really tell what is bent just by looking at those pictures!! thats probably why the garages werent much help (they wont say anything that you can hold them too until they inspect the vehicle)

you not got any mates 'in the trade' who could shimmy under and have a look for ya?!

how did you do that looks like it may need a little more work than just swapping the axle have you looked at the underneath to see if its shifted the mounts you will be able to tell if its moved away from where its bolted as it will be clean where its moved from.

The 4 bolts what hold the axle on are high tensile steel about 6-7"'s long and bolt right into the chassis i would drop one of these out and see if its bent, if it has then you will more than likely have more damage to the chassis

Ask one of the mods to move this to the suspension section you will probably get a better response from in there

That's exactly what happened to mine.

I hit the curb at 40 in the wet, had to have a whole new back end

cost me a good part of over a grand because i needed the work doing fast and had it done in a garage

heres my pic

this only happened bout 2 months ago
