Just a quick hello to the forum, and a quick question.
Just bought a 51 plate furio a few weeks ago. Already had to replace thermostat and corroded radiator, oh well.
The question i have is regarding the keys, theres one to open the door and another one for the ignition. Is that right, or am I missing a remote fob for the central locking?

one key for all.
do the keys look the same? if the keys are of a different cut it might be that one of the barrels has been replaced, but on the other hand might just be a dodgy key/lock.

defo different keys, one works all the doors, including the boot and one for the ignition. The ignition one is a citroen key and the other is shaped like a citreon key, but is says Silica- Italy on it,
Cant imagine someone changing all of the door locks?
just looked and remote locking is as standard. How do i go about getting one of them?

i would asume that either the ignition barrel had locked / fucked totaly and has been changed or somones lost the key down the line and had them all replaced

as standard all the locks are the same, well they have been on all of my saxos.
maybe the silica key doesnt work in the ignition as it might not have a chip in it.

My fiesta (dont laugh) had this. Someone before me had changed the locks. Both the doors were one key (non-genuine) and the ignition and boot lock were genuine Ford locks. It was because at some point one of the doors had been replaced, and instead of forking out for a new lock barrel from Ford and getting it re-tumbled they just brought a couple of new locks with a new key...hey presto, two keys!! Could be anything like that. If your that bothered by it get a new lock set from Citroen, but dont expect it to be cheap!!

Does that include the ignition barrel too?
Alternatively, assuming the key 'shape' (not the cut) is the same for both your citroen and non-gen locks then you could get your door locks re-tumbled, if you know someone who can/will do it. but, you would need to take the ignition barrel out for whoever does it to work from!!

im bidding on a new remote fob, and will programme it to the car, therefore eliminating the need for the door key.
