Just a quick post;

Has anyone seen this amazing car - 1.8 Vtr Turbo??
A lad not far from me owns it, yet to be taken in it tho. The work is done by cituning, very impressive - runs well on the rollers aswell.
Steel crank, Forge - The lot lol!

Check this video and see what you think;

stroker kit from QEP etc mate. brings it up to around 1803cc iirc, and some good low down torque :D

Stroker kits increase the stroke (length) of travel in the chamber... increasing capacity without going sideways ;)

I try to get him on here everytime i see him, but hes not the type of lad to share it with everyone.
Id like to know what power its kicking out atm, any ideas?
i know before the stroker kit was fitted it was around the 220bhp mark.

Ill try and get some photos off his mate to put on here.

Ive also noticed that they do this kit for N/A, would it be worth it? lol

theres far too many factors to just guess the power it would make.
you would definately get more gain from purchasing these kits for a boosted engine rather than n/a, although thats not to say it wont do anything for n/a. it will increase midrange for sure.:P

12th March 2009, 12:57
why is he only running 9psi?

if he has forged crank/pistons/rods then tell him to stop being a pussy and run 1 bar+ ;)

very nice though i must say, sounds different in a good way.

Xsi16v_Jk
12th March 2009, 14:21

dannygti
12th March 2009, 18:41
should be very interesting what power/torque it has with more boot asthis will tell us more of how the stroker kit effects things....

i admire the fact he's doe something different and yet has great results.

Xsi16v_Jk
12th March 2009, 18:44

Xsi16v_Jk
12th March 2009, 23:27
im not sure guys sorry, i know he has something quaife - 100% sure, there is no spinning at all, really is an amazing machine!

Ryan
13th March 2009, 00:58
the quaife is the differential. its an ATB which is a form of LSD

Jazz
13th March 2009, 01:05

One of the quickest? Doubt it mate. Theres a few NA saxo's running 200+ bhp, let alone 20 odd saxo / 106's i can think off the top of my head running boost and way over 300bhp...

Thats not to say its not quick, or good. I like the fact he's done something different with the QEP stroker kit. Its something im considering in the future thats for sure!

wouldnt want a stroker with a high revving engine joshwaaaaaaa

Think it was Matt from QEP that said the stroker kits can cope with 11,000rpm

As Tom said i've been told they are fine to at least 9k Pauline...

Ryan
13th March 2009, 17:07
The extra revs will wear more on a stroked engine I belive due to the increase in the stroke of the piston.

Xsi16v_Jk
13th March 2009, 19:03
Oh sorry JP, i meant 8v.

The car is unique in its own league, more bosst to come wooop!

dannygti
13th March 2009, 19:26
i dont think they are too bad but ive had no experience with them so cant say.

i do know the DP stuff is top quality.

the stroker kits are aroung 2k.

As Tom said i've been told they are fine to at least 9k Pauline...

thing is you need to uprate everything. as in everything.

its not really cost effective.

but as you're earning mega moolah, you may as well :P
