(dont know what section this should go, mod please move if wrong )
i cleaned my car today and found a few scratches :wall:
they're not deep in, cant feel them but they are showing up white (black car) and it's bugging me
what can i use to get them away? ive heard t cut isn't the best for car body, is there anything else i can use? saw touch up pens in halfords but im dubious of them

another great post from vtec :clapping:
by hand? your going to need some stamina.
you'd be better trying to mask them with a glaze. have you tried AG Super Resin?
a machine polish would get rid of the magority of them if not all of them but if your asking this question i take it you wont have one.
have a look in the detailing section, there are loads of threads on scratches and swirls in there.

Meguires scratch x is good for minor scratches but wont get rid of them permanently. Machine polish is the best way to get rid of them for good.

Have a look on clean your car,
Theres a kit on there by a company called car-lack, its applied by hand and the results are very impressive.
For the best results though i would highly recommend getting an orbital polisher and some menzerna intensive polish.

Try cleaning it with a clay bar, then polishing it out some Autoglym or Meguiars. Failing that try some Super Swirl Remover or if you cant get any of that some T-cut although this is quite abrasive.

If you used T-cut to clean your car in the first place this could be your problem mate because it has particles in that do not break down so you just keep rubbing them in compared to new products such as autoglym that have particles that break down while you rub it into the car. :y:

cheers for the replies.
never washed the ar with t cut so not gona use it to get rid of scratches. and dont have access to a polisher, so auto gylm stuff is going to have to do untill i can get it machine polished.
cheers guys :y:
