u may no i had a smash up just before xmas still waiting to here if its a write off or not i did get an estimate of how much its gonna cost from the insurance company and garage its gonna gost £2532.65 to repair do you lot think they wil bother or write its off its a mk2 vtr 2003 59k on the clock ?? ure reviews plz

I think they'll write it off, tbh. Uneconomical to repair it.

definately a write off.

If the cost of fixing is over a certain percentage of the value of the car then its wrote of.

i think thats how it works anyway

With todays market (parkers) valuing it as a good private at £1600. That is so a write off!

Buy it back for £100 if you can and flog off the bits to make a bit of a profit out of your loss.

Before he buys it back he should see how much the insurance company will offer. The offer could be worth more than the parts on the car

My vtr was reversed into at the drivers b pillar area, causing damage to the door (would only just open if forced as the pillar and door bent slightly where they close. Final cost was £2361... that was a '97 plate with 105k on the clocks.

i was surprised the insurance paid out but wasnt going to argue with them :)

sounds like you got a stroke of luck with the cheque though :)
