When i start my car and turn my sterring wheel from side to side it feels asif there is no power steering and its like this for the 5 five minutes or few corners of my trip then it comes on all of a sudden! it does this everytime and dont have a clue what it is. my fluid is at the correct level:panic:

check the relay? grey litle box on top off your pump? if not then its your pump mate. mine did the same but then just died so no power steering for me for the time being

common fault mate. try giving your power steering pump a good few knocks with like a spanner. usually cures it

will try banging it lol cant see it being the relay if it comes back on ya think? just out of interest if it is the pump and needs replacing how much am i looking at and is it easy to replace?

just knock it mate. knock it on the metal part from under the car. easiest bit to get to. it will work again, trust me. i did it on my sax and 106. if it stops working again give it a bit of a harder knock.

will need replacing at some point s/hand ones about £60 4 bolts 2 pipes and 1 electrical connector easy takes about 1/2 hr to do

can someone give me any pointers into which is the pump i need to be hitting? or checking.. like where abouts it is

passengers side looks like a long alternator lol mine was like yours mate and now just dont work at all. got qouted £60 2nd hand from scrappy. or they like 100 + new

where the fluid goes in follow down the tube to bottom you will see a roundy looking piece of metal thats the pump its fitted between chassis rail and lower front panel

Be careful where you hit the pump its part plastic read below this is what happened to me.
I have a problem with my 2001 Furio power steering.
The problem is I have cracked the plastic where the fluid enters the pump from the reservoir and Citroen only sell a complete steering pump at £340 I was hoping someone out there had an old pump with the plastic part ok and would consider selling it to me.
Hope someone can help
