insurance for 3 months ...

I have been insured on my car now for 11 months, coming up to my 18th birthday. I passed end of may, so i got nuva 4 months to go till i have had my license for 1 year.

Im probably being thick here ... but if i want to buy a VTR on my bday, will i have to take out a years insurance at the stupidly priced insurance? Or will i have to take out nuva years on my 1.1, and simply change cars in may?

When you buy it tell the insurance and they will either change it or start a new policy from scrath mate

Edit: if your wanting it for when you turn 18, insure the 1.1 then when you turn 18 change it with insurance.

i think they just change it, i had a mk1 punto and it broke down so we got sumthin that would last me about a year and got a mk2 punto, phoned up insurance and they just changed the car, still the same policy just car changed, the jump from 1.1 up to the 1.6 though.... could be quite a steep charge,mite not be as big because its a renewal quote but still... even if u waited and renewed your 1.1, youd be lucky if it stayed the same, my premium went up after my first year :S
