I spent in total about 580 for the last trip. It will cost more this year because of the exchange rate remember. Also had 700 to spend when I got back because of shattered gearbox mountings!

On another note though it will be something you never forget :-)

I should have info up for this shortly. I am waiting on an email to confirm part of the trip.
Costs should be not bad but the exchange rate is crap at mo. There is alway a cheaper option offered as part of the trip.

basically i wouldnt go the ring unless you 100% trust your car
and your ability on track

it only takes one small mistake and you have a big bill

you have to pay for any armco you hit
recovery is costly
and they can charge you for closing the track

not many insureance companies insure you at the ring either

would be interested in going over although im only 18 wud love to do it in my vtr but it has to be something a bit more faster =P

you are allowed to go to dover, get on the ferry and arrive in france in your own car & drive it if your 18+ that link i provided on last page says so. Just for insurance purposes you have to be 21 to hire a car over there!

people were going around in vtr's its not about how fast u can go its about the experience.... wonder if i can get my time closer to the 9:10 mark this time :D

I even have a company that will insure your car for the ring. There is still a 1000euro excess this policy though.:sad::sad::sad:
Kev is right though, it is all about the experence and as long as you drive to within your own limits you will be fine.

im considering going this year. :y:

would get the ferry from rosyth down to zebrugge then onto florence (italy) to see my pal (shes out there working for 7 months) via the ring. its 825 miles to zebrugge and going via the ring is only another 75 miles.

would prefer to keep the miles off the car though, hence why at the moment its just "a thought" :)

Kev yeah i am. Am going before the aug trip though. Will price session ticket up and go halfs i think. As spent 200euro plus on laps last time lol so will be cost effective if its 450each if going halfers for two trips :-) only killer for us is the drive from newcastle.

If everything pans out this year in regards the VTS 'I AM' going.

I shall be keeping an eye open for the offical Sax-p trip.

Hope a few midlanders go as we'd be able to do a convo to which ever port we decide to leave from. :y:
