yes they makesure its roadworthy, then you mot it after.
its simple and does not take too long, you sit and wait whilst its done. cost about £30 quid. then you get a cartificate

when selling the car you would need to tell the new owners? and would it de value it at all?

a vic test is just a check off the car basically they check the places that were damaged and they look if the car is looking back to normal or not but its not long only a 15min test we have had it done many times!

yes it will devalue your car, and even if you dont tell the new buyer, if he/she had any sense they would check the car with vosa for a fiver and it will come up saying its been a right off, also your V5 should say it??

its hard to say, I sold my VTS which was a cat c right off, but un recorded.....
We were honest to the seller, it had about 80k on the clock and it went for about £1700 if i recal. it was lightly modded
just advertise the car as it is, when someone looks at it, tell them it ws a cat c write off. Show all documents showing its road safe and then they may offer you a price, imo there is no certain amount it will devalue at. it depends on the car.
but it does put people off buying cars that was had a crash

it doesnt really check the car is roadworthy it checks its identity to see if its the right chassis number etc however is there is a major fault they can prohibit it until the major defect is fixed.

this is correct, people con us and the vosa by basicly changing the identity of cars over to make money.
