Hi, does anyone know if and what problems may occur if using a tft monitor instead of a hd lcd tv for my ps3?

If i had a monitor with a HDMI port will the ps3 just plug in and screen resolutions be fine? or say if with my current monitor i got a hdmi to dvi convertor i assume i will be losing HD but display will just be normal as if playing through a scart lead? Obviously different monitors are able to display certain resolutions, so would i need to look for a specific spec'd monitor? or am i better off getting a hd tv for ps3 but which also has a vga or dvi for pc? I know some tvs do come with pc inputs (our one downstairs has vga) but im only looking for a small 19" - 22" screen for spare room and havent really looked whats on the market yet in that range.

Thanks...

Look at the resolutions supported for your monitor to see if they are 720, 1080 resolutions. You can do HD through DVI as it's digital and newer monitors support full HDCP through DVI.

Just be aware that majority of good monitors do not have speakers built in, so you've be losing the digital sound if using HDMI on a monitor and DVI is video only.

Someone please correct me if I'm chatting shit, been a long time since I've checked out the latest monitor specs!
