I remember watching a documentary about a Billionaire once and his 2 daughters bought him a numberplate to put on his shaffaur driven RRoyce.... it was the number 9 and it cost them over £1million.... the most expensive numberplate to be sold in the UK so far.... that was about 5 years ago now.
I want this one, but they want £19,995 for it: -

yeah, i have the worst initials in the world, its impossible to get the number plate i want, everything with GT in it costs about 4 grand min, tho the one i really wanted was GT 1, but it was priced at £120,000 smileys/smiley19.gif i could never afford that not even in my dreams. Tho i did see an unusual one that was GT 6575 for £5k that has caught my eye, maybe once im done with uni i'll have some money for it.
Right thats it im changing my name to something with X and Y as my initials, they cant be too expensive .... smileys/smiley2.gif

If i was to get somthing with my initials, TJW, it would cost £250 direct from dvla, but sometimes we want the reg to spell out our names, in which case it becomes very expensive, yeah ive seen that advert with the number 9 plate up for auction, was 1 of the leading banks i think, was only a advert though.
Edit. you not got a middle name grant?
& yeah i can imagine that all registration plates with the initial GT in will be expensive
G_man_GT
30th September 2005, 16:18
Yeah, my middle name is Matthew, but that means my initials are GMT which is even more didfficult to find , hmmm maybe i was neva meant to have a private number plate smileys/smiley17.gif

7y = £50k+ most likely
There mad nowa days these registration plates, you buy 1's with your initials or other stuff on (edit) for less then a few grand, maybe even less then a grand, but if you want it to read out your name, i.e 7 ONY, then your talkin big money, best thing about them tho is that they dont lose value like your car, overtime they mite actually increase in value, all depends on what it reads out

1st October 2005, 01:40

Anyways another thing about registration plates, its it the new in thing at the moment, theres so many people now with special reg's, back in the days when i was younger the only people with special reg's were the people who were well off.

The new format number plates aint worth personalising - you canne tell when its been personalised. One of my neighbours has got SU51 ZRJ - buy a car from Inverness and the first two letters will be SU, SV, SX or SY. I only like the older style plates. I want DUD3 smileys/smiley4.gif smileys/smiley2.gif

If you buy a private plate for your car, iam led to believe that the old number plate goes back to dvla, unless you pay £80 transfer fee or somthing, iam not 100% sure tho
