well, my dimma grille arrived yesterday... just gotta wait to get it sprayed... now.. do i cut a section out of the mesh so you can still get to the bonnet release and spoil the entire look!! or do you guys know any easy ideas to change the bonnet release somehow to get to it another way?? besides crawling under the car with a long stick!! lol

There must be a way cos there are saxos with the grille smoothed over.

Rob i meshed mine no prob without having to cut away any mesh, its a but trickier than standard getting to the bonnet release but no problem really, dunno how you plan to mesh yours but i screwed the mesh in behind the actual bonnet, so its not actually attached to the front grille part so maybe this makes it easier to get to the catch?
see pics below:

so how do you get to your bonnet release catch now mate? i see in the pics the entire grill space is meshed over (looks very cool btw) which is how i want mine to be.. with the dimma grille you screw the mesh in on the back, or glue it.. so im not sure how you get to the latch? sorry i know im dumb lol

its hard to explain mate, ive got the mesh behind the metal thing that comes down the middle of the space where the grille is when you take it out, you know the one shapedwith a kink in it...

oh right, i get how you've done it now! hmmmm i cant do that tho.. the dimma grille is badgeless.. so its just mesh all the way accross.. think i'll have to play about with this before i fit it.. i meshed my original grille like the one you modded but i didnt have the guts to spray it myself so i left it black and it doesnt look quite right.. but i will have a fiddle and see what i can come up with.. cheers man.. open to any other suggestions if anyone has an idea!
cheers..

I've done the same as XPT_Furio and I can reach under the bonnet to release the catch. Once you open it from the inside there is enough of a gap to reach under if you understand me.

how long did it take you mike? took me 13 hours
soldering, cutting, chopping, painting .........
I have got a Dimma Grill... I have cut a little bit away, enough to get one finger through and you can't notice it unless you are crouched down in front of your car!
Some people drilla small hole in the bonnet catch and attached a small chain with a small ring on the end of it, so you just pull the ring and it does the trick!

Didnt take me that long. I only cut the slats out, then used some glue to hold mesh in place. Didnt paint the surround, just left it black.
The worst part was cutting the mesh to shape. That stuff is lethal
