Hello, ive been learning to drive in my old mans suzuki ignis sport, i passed my test last week and am buying a vtr this week. Does anyone know how much they differ performance wise, has anyone raced an iggy? I hear they are quite rare!
Cheers

Cheers mate! Yeh i dont think so but the only difference will be gear ratios, the ignis ratios are mega short and the vtr im buying has a vts box in it so might be a bit easier to drive lol

Ignis Sport- 1.5 16v, 935kg and 107bhp, on paper it should edge a VTR but there is practically nothing between them. They're built better though, predictably.

the vts gearbox will not fit a vtr engine iirc, so who ever told you that is lieing

A friend used to work for suzuki and so got one very cheap.
Wasnt very impressive tbh, which was a shame as potentially could have been good.
The standard recaros were not that nice really espec with the mesh, and it didnt feel that well built.

All boxes in MA range fit, its the driveshafts that differ.
UFail.

Yeh thats what i thought because i helped him strip it yesterday and he showed me he had a longer/shorter driveshaft on one side due to it being a vts box.

suspensions abit hard but handles well and good fun to drive.

vtr's also use intermediate bearings with 2 piece shafts.
All saxos have 1 shaft longer than the other. some dont have the intermediate bearing though.
the longer shaft has nothing to do with the box

Having owned an Iggy sport, I can say that they are noticibly quicker than a VTR, Mine was an absolute gem with the VVT kicking in at 4000. The stated 0-60 is 8.9 seconds but in reality it's more like 8.2! I really miss the car, just a shame the snow and Ice killed it!
