Going to Barca for a weekend next month.
Im just looking at hotels but not sure which part of the city to stay in. Ive been advised to stay near Ramblas by a friend. But alot of the hotels are bad comments regarding noise at night and prositution. While this wouldnt be a problem if i was with the lads, Im going with the Mrs so want a safe place to stay.
Wheres a good location not too far from where it all happens.
They are some seriously lush hotels but they seem a little out in the sticks on the map.
Heeeelp.

Ive been twice before. Las Ramblas is the best place to stay. Bang in the middle, and a close walk to nearly everything.
The bottom edge is a bit more dodgy, nearer to the beach but saying that it is still safe.
Stay near the middle of Las Ramblas or Avinguda Diagonal.
Hesperia Presidente is a nice hotel on Avinguda. Rambla de Catalunya is also nice.

mate a place I stayed in was nice going... not bling or anything but actually if you choose one of the streets just off Ramblas you don't get the noise or the expense.
It's well worth staying around there though... depends on your budget ultimately.
Nu Camp is a must (drag gf kicking and screaming), I think football is pretty much the gayest industry ever, but that stadium is something else. we were there when it was Barca vs Madrid.... electric atmosphere, simply electric.

arhhh fugger now you've got me it was 3 years ago now and my mate organised it all :zainy:
We flew BA on the way out and Iberia on the way home (some sort of 'deal'), we flew to the main airport. It was a hotel towards the beach end of the street (Las ramblas), off one of the side streets. Literally come out of the underground station (there are 2 or 3 stations just for ramblas alone), do a right and walk for 2 mins and we were there.
Goudy Tower is amazing to look at and walk up and impress yaow girlfriend. But yes, Nou camp is barca's real gem.
NOTE: I went in March and got sunburn

Yeah sorry that is the street name but the area is nice and also in the centre so a hotel around there would be ideal. The atmosphere there is amazing especially at night, really nice european city.
I flew into the airport kinda further out of town, was a 30min taxi ride in. First time and flew there was with BA and second with Iberia. Iberia was really nice actually, the seats were recaros haha!
Places to see have to be Nou Camp as said, Sagrada Familia, La Predera, Las Ramblas, beach, park guell.
Just keep an eye on your possessions, its notorious for pick pocketing.

Sweet. Flights are sorted but i didnt realise at the time of booking it was to the airport like 60miles outa the fucking centre haha. They have busses that run to the city from the airport are only like 21 euro return each. So its not an issue really...
We only have 2 days in the City so all the luxuries of most hotels wont be needed as we will be out all day and night really. I just dont want to rape up and find myself getting raped by a tramp.

Cool, if you are gonna be out day and night then the 3*'s on las ramblas should be ok.
Here's a tip though, there are loads of restaurants on las ramblas that look flash but hey are very overpriced! Dont eat at them, theres ones on the side street to las ramblas that are alot cheaper and nicer food.

I just came back from Barcelona yesterday.
Had an amazing time. we stayed in a hotel by Sagrada Familia.
Las ramblas is a must - very busy and lots going on
Also visited the Nou Camp - stunning stadium and they run a tour there to look round

Only thing is the tiny back streets around Las Ramblas are notorious for muggings and we went to find a recommended restaurant and found it quite uncomfortable as there were alot of gangs hanging about and making comments towards you.

Nou Camp tours run everyday although its best to get there in the morning coz it can get quite busy. But that was summer time so dont know about now. Cost was 16 euros IIRC.
