my car key is worn down so it only works the odd time,so i stated using the master key so to speak (the 2nd key) witch was only used once or twice but you can only yse the key 250 times don't no why there a sticker on it saying that but back to topic. So at lunch time i phone up mercedes and get a quote for a new key and it was 175 fucking quid:wall: fuck that (i said to my self) so i am stuck i cant use the 2nd key for to long,so do anyof you no wear i can get a merc car key cut for less or will need to go to mercedes place to get it dun rant over. thanks for reading and let me no what you think

I would say its a bit of a scam by Mercedes, where they wont supply the blanks to key cutters, so that you have to spend your money with them.
Easy way of them making extra £££, I reckon.
Sorry dude!

Agreed unfortunately mate, have you tried anywhere to see if they can cut them for you though?
Good luck :y:

Its not the key bit they charge for mate, its programming the chip in the key to your immobiliser that hikes it up. Still a rip off, but they all do it, its like 120 for one for a saxo

Go to a local garage then. My dad's place reprograms keys and im sure they dont normally charge that much. But tbf, Merc will be charging you for a new key at that, so thats where some of that money will be going.

by blipper I assume you mean fob, if so, why was I quoted 72/75 or 77 quid, cant remember the exact amount but it was 70+ for a new fob coded?
Dodgy if the main dealers all charge different prices :-s

All dealers will charge a fortune for this unfortunately.
Luckily with the ph2 306s you can program them yourself.
