Im new here, I just made my first post asking how to turn my air bag light off. And it got locked telling me to search.

Now thats fine by me, however the search just showed my thread and no others.

How are you ever ment to get 100 posts to use the forsale section if every post you make gets locked.

Its not a very good welcome to a forum is it......

Im off back to 106owners to find help, at least were a bit friendlier over there.

Lots of people on here will only read and not post. I was like that for quite a long time. But then there's people been on since middle of last year and got 5000+ posts... they need to get a life lol :P

YES the search function is there for a reason, but come on, it was your first post and he could of atleast posted up the link you needed in his reply!

Personaly i think that was kind of abusing his new position just for the fact he can, not very profesional imho......

The airbag wirse etc under the seat has been coverd 1000's of times yes, i personally have not sen many threads for the airbag wire behind the airbag unit on the steering wheel.......

he may well of not knowing it was the same process, i no i would of been a little unsure also....

oh yea cus a noob knows that, i get sick of replys to questions all people get is use the search button, maybe they should be a list of things that have been asked befour so people can know not to piss people off with a post coming up twice a month, god its so ANOYING! :n:

You join popular forum, you have a problem. You click search as chances are it has been asked before. You exhaust search results and if you can't find it you post.

Typing "airbag light" into a search box is pretty fucking easy. I am wondering how he actually managed to create his account on this site if he is too fucking stupid to find an answer to a question that has literally, hundreds of threads with answers in them.

There may have been something wrong with the search function, or your not looking hard enough.

tbh mate this forum is very active and friendly most of the time. the mod is new but is usualy massively helpful with any quieries asked regardless of whether the search button should or should not of been used.

i think you just got unlucky and didnt receive a great welcome to the forum, if you can ever forgive us im sure you'll find its alot better here than at 106owners ;)

92 threads to choose from, im sure you will find your answer in one of them. if not then feel free to create a new thread about your problem. Many members get frustrated with the number of newer members that dont use the features the forum has which results in a thread full of the word "Search!!"

The forum would still be busy, you just wouldnt have 400 of the same threads poping up.

chances are a thread might not contain the info you need, but theres no reason not to search before hand.
