So they would like to buy the rear lights now and then the headlights at a later stage. Add your name to the list and then we would get them a little cheaper.

Ok people, I thought I would update this thread regarding the fitting of the new headlights.

Taking the old ones out and putting the new ones in is very very easy. Nobody should have any trouble there. If you do, then I suggest you seek assistance NOW before attempting them yourselves!!!

The tricky part about fitting the new lights is fitting the Valeo light level into the back of the new lights. To remove it from the back of the existing headlights, all you need to do is twist it 90 degree's in one direction and gently pull it away from the unit. It should then come off with ease.

Now, when you go to put the Valeo unit into the new lights, this is where the tricky bit starts. What you will have to do is put your finger through one of the holes on the back of the lights and pull the actual light element up towards the back of the light. Once you have this in position, you are then to insert the Valeo unit in and then try and clip the ball bearing into the black plastic v clip. It may sound rather simple but trust me, it's not. In the past, I have just given up and left the unit moving up and down (therefore messing up my whole light vision).

I have been on the phone to Citroen today to get a quote for fitting these new lights. They came back to me and said it would be around £70. I was like smileys/smiley3.gif

What the bloke did suggest is take the car to Citroen, remove the existing lights and then take out the Valeo unit and then give the unit and the new headlights to them for them to clip in. This will take them no time at all. As soon as they have done that, you can then fit the lights to the car yourself. This is the route I will be taking.

By the way, they should also be able to put the car up against a level reader just to make sure that the headlights are pointing where they should be and not up towards the stars smileys/smiley14.gif

Do the rear lights come with the blub holder & blubs or not?

If not then iam going to get some l.e.d bulbs imported for mine smileys/smiley4.gif + i need some more blubs as ive smashed some of mine

To fit the rear lights, it's just a case of taking the old clusters off and putting the new ones in. You use the existing bulb rack and bulbs for the lights. But, it is recommended to buy the Silvatec bulbs for the rear indicators. These are basically a silver bulb that shines orange, so that you cannot see the orange glow from the bulb through the light cluster.

As for the front. Again, you use the existing bulbs from your originial headlights but what a lot of people have done (including myself) is purchased some uprated bulbs from a company who I have always dealth with. I currently have some Philips Blue Vision main headlight bulbs with some Extreme White sidelight bulbs. They give off a bright white light with a blue tint. These particular headlight bulbs are road legal but be careful as some are not.

If you are not sure which bulbs fit your car, then have a look on their site as they have a system that allows you to input your car details and then it will tell you what bulbs you need and for where.

When you spend over £15, they will throw in a free set of extreme white sidelight bulbs. I always get free sidelight as the Philips Blue Vision headlight bulbs were around £25 (for two).

The lining up bit is easy mate. That is done by adjusting the screw in the top of the valeo unit. The only problem I had was taking the valeo unit out of the old lights and putting it into the new ones.

Your new ones have steamed up or the old ones?

That usually means there's a gap somewhere. It's condensation.

I had that in my old near side rear light but I don't have any of that now I have the ones on.

Its on the new lights smileys/sad.gif, i came home from work at about 7ish & was watching my dad back so he doesnt hit my saxo & noticed there were both steamed up, however it was on the outside on the drivers side but on the inside on the passenger side, iam going to have a look at them tommorrow & make sure theres no gaps or anything

Ummm well it's usually something to do with the seals, unless there is something wrong with where the headlight sits itself.

Mine are all fully fitted after a fuck about putting them on,i now need a new headlight bulb smileys/smiley7.gif smileys/smiley19.gif

Get some uprated headlight bulbs from...

Autobulbs Direct (http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/home.php)

They include a free set of extreme white sidelight bulbs when you spend over £15. The headlight bulbs I currently have are Phillips Blue Vision. I will be getting some more soon. Also think about getting some silvartec bulbs to get rid of that 'fried egg' look through your lights.
