Be careful with her in the Saxo mate, I dread to think what could happen.

How much did she weigh? Was you there was she was born, what do you did you think of the experience?

She weighed 8lb2oz, yeah i was there, pretty stressfull to be fair the missus was in labour for 7hours and she had to be delivered using that thing they put on there head and pull them out as the babys heartbeat kept stoping and not recovering as quick as they would like after each contraction. Yeah and think its the slowest ive ever driven with her in the car so im ok im just a bit worried about other peoples driving now. God how your thoughts change. I think i kind of grew up over night lol!

Congratulations.
I become a mum December 07 and when we first come out the hospital I was freaking out at every car coming close to us! I then didnt want to take him out in the car because of that reason lol.
Its the most amazing thing!
I was lucky with a short labour (started contractions at 8pm, in full labour about 3, started pushing at 5.30 had him by 6 am )

congrats!!

birth weight on its own is not a good indicator of problems/likely problems. it is a factor - but so is duration in weeks of pregnancy. my neice was born at 28 weeks.....weighing 1lb - 450oz. she is now 15 months old, 13lb and nearly walking. not a thing wrong with her apart from being teeny!! she was lucky though.....

tbh i would start thinking about a safer car than the saxo if i was driving my son/daughter around in it. volvo ftw.

Thanks for all the comments, as for a safe family car thats why i have a saxo lol. Apart from the fact my old rs turbo was a bit broken it was a bit too fast to be driving a baby around in so i managed to con the missus into thinking that because it was slower and new a saxo was a family car that way i still have a nippy little car lol. I did think about an S40 but then realised id look more like a grandad and not a dad.

Saxo? A safe family car?

I know what you mean but i just couldnt have a slow granny mobile. Ive changed my driving style so hopefully should be ok and its a lot safer than my old rs. Plus the pushchair fits in the boots so thats a bonus!

Danr
23rd January 2009, 12:33
Fair play man. I suppose it's a car and if you don't drive like a nob you shouldn't have any problems. Safer and just as fun cars out there but can't see major probs :)

Congratulations. I'm going to be a mummy in May/June/July time. I'm having twins so not sure when they will make their arrival to be honest as most of them are early lol. I'm hoping time will fly by now. I personally wouldn't put my babies in the saxo. My boyfriend is going to be driving it everyday now and I'm getting a MG ZT lol. I've watched the saxo crash test on youtube and I would hate to think what would happen if somebody hit the rear quarter panel with the babies inside. Plus I've got no chance of fitting a double pram in that boot

CampDavid
24th January 2009, 11:31
Not sure about the ZT, it's a very old design, the Megane would be my weapon of choice here with it's massive NCAP rating

s1chris
24th January 2009, 13:56
Yeah if i had the money i think something like a Megane would be good but still im not minted so the saxo will do for now.
