now that I have no car I have a couple of months to save up fro something new, Ive decided I want to go down the turbo route and the fiesta rs turbo seems to be the best on insurance.
I will have about £2.5k to spend, apart from the rust round the filler cap and arches what else should I be looking for, anything else I should know before I commit to buying one.
cheers

Hello mate, ill be honest ive had two fiesta turbos and id never own another one in my life lol. I had a mecury grey one that ended up written of as they dont tend to go around corners in the wet very good and i had a moondust silver one if you must have one pay the extra and get a moondust silver as there are only like 23 left and only 57 were ever built so they hold there value and tend to have been looked after a bit better. Problems with mine were all arches and sills were rotten under the body kit the front of the floor pan and the usual filler cap rotten and the car had been garged for the last 10 years. The seals in the T2 went and they are just stupid money for a standard replacment so replaced with bigger T3 of and escort rs and then it did the big end, it had been driven sensible-ish regular oil changes and only 12psi of boost and it had only done 72k. The cvh is just a bit of a pants engine to be fair so a ZVH or zetec turbo would be the way to go. The add to that stupid running costs. Loved them but never again im afraid.
