Basically my front two tyres where pretty worn so swapped them with the rear tyres. Wheel started to shake when going over 50mph. So obv the balancing was out. I then got 2 new tyres for the ones that were originally on the front which were fitted and balanced. Put them back onto the front and it still wobbles at 50+.

Do the wheels get balanced for the position they are on the car or just as a wheel on its own.

They all get balanced independantly, so position on the car is irrelevant.
Seems a bit strange that the old rears and the new fronts did the same thing, must be a problem elsewhere...

thought so, seems strange though, it was fine till i swapped the wheels round?

Might be worth removing the front wheels and wirebrushing the hubs, might be some grit preventing the wheel sitting flat against it.

if the rears are unbalanced, it more than likely will be that (unless the fronts were poorly balanced), although not a prominently as having the fronts unbalanced because of the forces through the steering wheel.

but rears were unbalanced or poorly balanced in the first place but it was all fine till i put the rears on the front. So im kinda leanin towards shit-fit have done a shit job of balancing them

Yeh get them re-balanced n make sure they do it properly, watch them to do it, make sure the get it within 10 - 10 prefebly better than that 5-5 would be ideal. If theyre using stick on weights then its harder to get accurate, unless they use the balancer where it lockes and an arm comes out with the weight on.

Also when the wheels on the balancer, watch it when it spins for a buckle :y:
