Personally i think the death penalty should be used over here again...

Dont think the goverment realise they could make money out of it....

like everything theres pros and cons however in teh long run i believe it would be beneficial (sp?) to the country, i would imagine it would cost alot less to kill them than look after them like they do now and the thought of being killed as punishment for crime would put many people off however with teh system how it is now they would probably end up killing the innocent for crimes because its cheaper ... but im willing to take the risk i say bring ti back in for murderers, terrorists etc

Now, for the death penalty - ultimate deterrent? No more violent crime because people would be scared of the ultimate sanction? America has the death penalty, yet there are more capital crimes per capita than here. I'd rather a whole life tariff was imposed (and kept to) rather than the quick solution.

Personally, i think it would be beter to pretend they have the death penalty.

Imagine them in prison, then told tomorow your having the electric chair. Next day they take them to the electric chair wire them up, go to put the power on n pretend theres a power cut.

1) Murdering someone is killing someone...thus you impose the death penalty you become a murderer.

2) If they really deserve that wouldnt death be the easy way out?

3) What if they were wrongly accused and innocent all along?

4) If that where your mum/dad/brother/sister in their place how would you feel?

5) Everyone deserves the chance to be reformed.

The only reason I can see for it is that it would save us money...and no matter what you say prison is not a doss ask anyone who has been in.

Prison life IS easy. i have just come out of a Bcat prison in London and ive done 15months. i had a playstation 2 a dvd player a colour tv and a nice little job so i could buy my goodies at the end of the week also i had a nice menu to choose from for my dinner which i would go and get then go back to my cell and eat it whilst watching the tv. i was scared of going to prison at first but once there i really enjoyed it and it wouldnt bother me if i had to go back. i dont plan to go back any time soon lol but if i did then i know that id be going on holiday again bec it was like Butlins. i have freinds at a C cat prison and they say its even better there! It didnt teach me a lesson it wasnt much of a punishment so i can see why it dosent deter many people. I agree with people when they say it should be hard labour bec when i walked out of them prison gates i should have been thinking WOW im never going back to that place again!

yea ive done 3 months in one of her magistys prisons. i came out a better person met some good contacts in there. I did clean my act up for a while but when a few of the boys got out that i was in with soon got back to old habbits. Bit of a waste of time prison.

Oh and that thing about the showers and dropping soap... it aint real everyone uses shower gel and only the odd bum rape goes on. i saw a lad called Pete Ferry from somewhere in the highlands said he was one of the 'Highlander Mandem' always gave it the big 'un saying his spirit cant be broken and all this gobeldeegook. Took Jimmy 'The Rocket' Winkleton 2 and half minuites to have him in tears. Just shafted the poor fella never seen a man brake that easy.

end of the day, it all depends on the situation.. tho i do think 1 thing is for certain and thats peidofiles should be hung without question

no, treason can no longer serve a capital punishment. That went through in the late 90s effectively ceasing capital punishment in this country.

We wont be able to bring it back under EU law anyway.

If it did come back then only murders, terrorists and that sort of stuff should serve capital punishment but only after DNA evidence confirms the person did actually do it. Then 2 years or so on death row for appeals then off to gallows. IMO

I did...I waited a year to see my dad when he was in prison..he deserved what he got...he paid his due...the cock should have got more but its still not an easy ride.
