ok as some of you may know i traded my saxo in last week to a garage and bought a megane coupe from them.so i found a couple of problems with my car such as abs not working and a possible bent steering rack, when i bought the car i was told i would get a 30 day warrenty. although i have no written proff of this.

went back to the dealer to see about getting my car fixed under the warrenty. he told me that the saxo i gave him as a trade in had a bent rear axle. i had the car for 7 months and was unaware of this.the dealer inspected my car before he took it as a trade in and did not mention this at the time.

so he then tells me my car wont be getting fixed under warrenty because its gonna cost them a fortune to fix the saxo i gave him. i told him i would have to take this further. then he basicly said to me away and fuck yourself we wont be fixing your car.

any ideas what i can do about this please

cheers

kick up some poo!!

that wouldnt pass an mot with that would it?

its not your fault they didnt check your car over! so its theyre own problems. if the garage advertises warranty they have to give it to u!

im guessin u signed papers when u bought it? check them out for whats covered etc

its not your fault they didnt check out you car (sold as seen) , if they said you had 30 days warrenty then they should fix it (although these warrenties usually dont cover a lot) , this happened to my friend when he got his car , they wouldnt fix a problem he had. But as he had it on credit he cancelled his payments to them , they then fixed it str8 away

hey dude if you havent got anything in writting then you havent got anything the best thing you can do is leave it and get it fixed somewhere else because he dont want to fix it he wont fix it and he could make very unsafe. Dont talk to him again lose some money to get it fixed properly and sett;e with learning a valible lesson
sorry pal !

think im goin to stick to private deals instead. i hate it when people say buying from a dealer you have more come back when things go wrong in my experience its worse you are just buying some one elese ball ache and it aint worth paying extra for

so todays lesson children is to STAY AWAY FROM DEALERS(CAR DEALERS THAT IS)

p.s i know people hate caps lock put it helps get the point across

if you've got anything in writing (even in small print on the invoice) that a warranty is offered then they HAVE to fix it. a lot of garages my way offer 3 months warranty on major parts & labour.

using your old car as an excuse doesn't mean they can refuse to fix yours. BUT unfortunately if you don't have it stated in writing that the car was sold with 30 days warranty then there may not be much you or anyone else can do

hope you get it sorted out mate & that you don't end up having to pay for it all

EDIT: sorry if that was a bit serious, kinda went into work mode coz of the contracts side i deal with smileys/smiley5.gif

bad luck mate when i bought my sax from a dealers the brakes didnt work and the lamba sensor was knackered, i took it bad and they said there was nothing wrong with the brakes even thought the rears dont even work, but they did fix the lamba sensor after having the car for nearly 2 weeks. smileys/smiley7.gif

i hope you get this problem sorted, its by no means your fault that your sax had a bent axle.
