i need to order some 2 ohm resisters to knock my airbag light out, i no i can use 1.8-2.2 ohm

befor anyone says anything about getting it fixed the steering wheels geting changed to an after market one

what watt resister will be ok?
or dosn't it mater

i no there are guides on here about useing resisters for airbags but thay dont say about watts only the ohm value

thanks:y:

Why not just unplug the airbag ecu or change it, that gets rid of the light too!

Watts is the measure of power.
Ohm is the measure of direct current.

I am very sure that resistors don't work on watts nor require a correct figure if any for fitment.

hay rem good to see ya still hear lol

im unsure, all the risisters i can find have a watts value to
dont press me lol (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/?_nkw=resistor+2.2+ohm&_sacat=0&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=resistor+1.8+ohm&_osacat=0)

anything from 0.25 watts up to 10 watts

unplugging anything from in airbag system makes the light stay on, i no as i have tryed

removal of the airbag ecu will turn it off. Why is it on in the first place?
I have a whole twin air bag and single air bag set up here if you want to try swaping the ecu over.

i have try'd unplugging it and it stays on,
as i stated in the top post im gona be changeing steering wheels to an after market so it will be on all the time and for the sake of a couple of quid i will use resistors

Could just remove the bulb...

After a little search i found this information:
Steering Wheel Airbag resistor is 2 ohm .5 watt

Seat Airbag resistors needed is 4.7 ohm .5 watt

Passenger Airbag resistor needed is 4.7 ohm .5 watt

Curtain Airbag resistors needed is 4.7 ohm .5 watt

This is for a Seat but the systems should use similar loads.
Seat Belt Tensioner resistor needed is 4.7 ohm .5 watt

Well in my experience of aftermarket parts, i would remove the ecu anyway and just twist out the bulb from the clocks, its an easy 2 minute job and no airbag light! Saves you wieght to and personally i would use harness as the seatbelt tensioner may not fire if there is a resistor in the loop.

Seat belt pre-tensionsers should still work as they require a stronger resistance to stop them from operating within the system properly.

Either way, if you have removed the bulb and the airbag you'll be fine.
Just take into not that your Insurance company will be very keen to know if you have removed the functionality of an airbag.

thanks but this was a resistor qustion i dont want to remove the bulb putting a resistor in takes a lot less timme than removeing the bulb and yes the seatbelt tensoners will still work (thay will be comeing out to thow so i aint to botherd)
thanks thow
