yo guys,
i was driving my saxo, and pulled up to a stop at red light, i pulled the handbrake up and put the car into neutral only to find that my gear stick hit the side. Now i only have forward gears and only get into third and there is no feeling on my gear stick at all. I was wondering if this is a common problem or what could have gone wrong.

I think the problem could be related to the car sitting in a repair shop for to long after my first car crash before christmas, could this cause it?

Any help would be great .

It appears that your gear linkage has failed.
The safest option is to go to a garage and have the gear linkage replaced.

This is an easy enough job to do DIY but takes some stripping of the interior if i remember correctly.
